Blueprint for local and distal invasion programs in glioblastoma

A recent study from the Hara Lab, in collaboration with the Tirosh Lab at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, and the Suva Lab at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, published in Nature Communications, presents a comprehensive “blueprint” of glioblastoma invasion (DOI: 10.1038/s41467-026-70470-8).

The work integrates single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and in vivo models to reveal how distinct tumor cell states drive either local or long-range brain invasion, identifying key molecular and spatial programs that shape glioblastoma progression.
