Research Spotlight: Cracking the Code of Recurrence in Pediatric Brain Cancer
Big news! The Pediatric Cancer Foundation has awarded a new grant to Drs. Maria G. Castro, Pedro R. Lowenstein, and Karin Muraszko to take on one of the most urgent challenges in childhood brain cancer: why tumors come back after immune gene therapy.
Focusing on G34-mutant pediatric high-grade gliomas (pHGG)—an aggressive and hard-to-treat cancer—the team will use single-cell technologies and molecular barcoding to trace how these tumors evolve, escape treatment, and resist the immune system.
Stay tuned as this bold research pushes the boundaries of what’s possible for kids with brain cancer.
